Milky Way Caramel Cheesecake Brownies
Ingredients
For the Brownie Layer:
- 1 box brownie mix, plus eggs, oil and water as directed on the box
For the Cheesecake Layer:
- 16-ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
For the Caramel and Candy:
- 6 full-size Milky Way bars, chopped into chunks
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.
- Line a 9-inch x 13-inch baking pan with parchment or aluminum foil, leaving a bit of overhang on the sides for easy lifting; lightly grease the foil or paper.
- Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions.
- Pour about half of the brownie batter into the bottom of the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese with the sugar, egg and vanilla until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
- Gently spread the cheesecake layer over the brownie base; it doesn’t need to be perfect, but the more even it is, the more beautiful the layers will look when sliced.
- Scatter the chopped Milky Way bars generously over the cheesecake.
- Then drizzle half of the caramel sauce across the surface.
- Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter on top of the caramel layer; use a knife to gently swirl everything together; just enough to create a marbled effect that will bake into stunning visual layers.
- Place in the pre-heated oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center only slightly jiggle; a toothpick inserted should come out mostly clean.
- Remove from the oven and allow the brownies cool completely, in the pan, before chilling them in the refrierator for at least an hour.
- Once chilled, use the foil overhang to lift the brownies from the pan.
- Slice into squares and serve.
- These brownies are amazing at room temperature, but even better slightly chilled when the caramel has thickened and the flavors have settled.
Notes
These brownies are even better the next day; store them covered in the refrigerator to maintain their texture.
Let them sit at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes before serving for that perfect soft bite.
