- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder

Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until fully browned.
- Remove from the heat; drain excess grease and allow to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded Pepper Jack cheese, chopped green onions, red bell pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper; mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
- Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture into the center.
- Brush the edges of the wrapper lightly with beaten egg.
- Bring the corners together and press to seal tightly, forming a little pouch.
- Place the wrapped wontons on the prepared baking sheet.
- Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
- Place in the pre-heated oven and bake for 12 to15 minutes, or until the wontons are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and allow the wontons to cool slightly before serving.
- Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a different flavor, substitute the sausage with ground chicken or turkey; add a touch of heat by mixing in chopped jalapeños; toss some finely chopped spinach or mushrooms into the filling.
The wontons also freeze well before baking, making them a great make-ahead appetizer; just bake from frozen for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.
