Homemade All-Purpose Seasoning Blend

Homemade All-Purpose Seasoning Blend

Use to season meats, seafood, vegetables and stews. Generally, 1 to 2 teaspoons of seasoning per pound of food works well.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. onion powder
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well.
  • Store in an airtight container until ready to use.

Notes

This makes about 1/3 cup of seasoning.
The benefit of this blend is the ability to control the number of spices and salt; make this blend salt free by eliminating the salt or drastically reducing the amount used.
Kosher salt is recommended in this recipe but feel free to use any salt you prefer; if using table salt, lessen the amount of salt as table salt is denser and would lead to salty seasoning.
