Pre-heat the broiler, on high.
Place baguette slices on a baking sheet.
Brush each slice with olive oil; be sure to cover both sides of the slices.
Place in pre-heated broiler and bake about 4 minutes; watch carefully – until lightly browned.
Remove from the oven and arrange on a serving platter.
In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, chives and capers.
Spread about 2 teaspoons of cream cheese, or more if desired, on each baked bread slice.
Top each with a salmon piece, red onion and dill.
