Chili Cheese Dog Bake
Ingredients
- 4 good quality hot dogs
- 4 strings cheddar cheese
- One 13.8-ounce can Pillsbury pizza crust
- One 15-ounce can chili
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp fresh parsley
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 375°F.
- Use a 6-inch x 10-inch or a 7-inch x 11-inch pan (or whatever size works best).
- Remove the cheese from the wrappers and cut in half lengthwise; set aside.
- Open the can of pizza crust and roll out.
- Cut the crust into 4 equal sections.
- Take a wiener and sandwich it with the two sides of cheddar.
- Beginning at one end of the strip of dough crust, begin to wrap the bundle into the dough, covering the whole length of the wiener.
- Place in the pan, seam side down; pour the chili around the dogs.
- When all four are complete, place in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the dough is cooked and golden brown on top.
- In a small saucepan, over medium heat, mix the garlic powder and parsley with the melted butter.
- Remove the dogs from the oven; brush the tops with the garlic butter.
Notes
To avoid doughy bottoms – be sure to place the buns and wieners in the baking pan first; then pour the chili around the dogs.
