Parmesan Baked Pork Chops

Parmesan Baked Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops, ½-thick
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, optional

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 400°F.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with cooking spray.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the Parmesean cheese, Italian bread crumbs, black pepper and garlic powder; mix well until evenly distributed; set aside while you prepare the pork chops.
  • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture; this ensures the breading sticks better.
  • Brush both sides of each pork chop generously with olive oil.
  • Press each pork chop firmly into the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture; ensuring both sides are fully coated.
  • Arrange the coated chops on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1-inch apart.
  • Place the pork chops in the pre-heated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until they are golden brown and the internal temperature registers at 145°F.
  • Rotate the pan halfway through baking for even cooking.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the pork chops to rest for 5 minutes before serving; this allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the meat tender and flavorful.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
