On a serving board, place alternating slices of mozzarella and tomatoes to form a candy cane shape.
Drizzle good quality olive oil over the mozzarella and tomatoes.
Sprinkle the candy cane arrangement with sea salt.
Using the broiler feature in your oven, place the baguettes on a rimmed baking sheet and broil until golden brown; turn over and brown on other side; carefully watch as they will easily burn.
Remove from oven; cool and place on the candy cane board.
Place the basil on the board along with a small serving dish of balsamic vinegar.
