Buffalo Chicken Dip

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken, cooked and shredded
  • ½ cup red hot sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup American cheese, diced in small pieces
  • ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese, for serving
  • 2 tsp. green onions, sliced
  • Celery sticks, carrot sticks, tortilla chips, crusty bread pieces, potato chips, etc., for serving

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat the oven to 375°F.
  • Arrange the oven rack to the middle of the oven.
  • In an 8-inch cast-iron skillet, or an ovenproof pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
  • Sauté garlic until fragrant; 30 seconds.
  • Add the chicken and hot sauce; simmer until sauce has thickened and reduced by half; about 2 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in cream cheese; mix until combined.
  • Remove from the heat; stir through the sour cream and top with both cheeses over the top.
  • Place in the pre-heated oven and bake until bubbling around the edges and the cheese has melted; about 10 minutes.
  • Broil for a further minute to brown on top.
  • Garnish with blue cheese and green onions.
  • Serve with vegetable sticks, potato chips, crusty bread pieces, for dipping, optional.
