Cinnamon Sugar Donut Sweet Bread

Ingredients
  

For the Bread:

  • ¼ cup canola oil
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup buttermilk or ½ cup whole milk mixed with ½. tsp. white vinegar
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. molasses

For the Coating Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon

Instructions
 

To prepare the bread:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.
  • Spray a regular loaf pan with non-stick baking spray.
  • In a medium bowl, mix oil, butter and sugar until well combined.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla; stir until smooth.
  • Add the buttermilk; start to gently add the flour, baking powder and salt; stir until you form a batter which is lump free.
  • Take half a cup of the batter and set aside.
  • In a smaller bowl, pour the half cup of batter; add the cinnamon and molasses; mix well.
  • Smooth out half of the batter into the loaf pan.
  • Take a spoon of the cinnamon molasses and smooth it out on the bread batter.
  • Pour the remaining bread batter on top and evenly spread.
  • Spread the rest of the cinnamon molasses on top of the bread batter.
  • Using a knife or a toothpick, swirl the batters together.
  • Place in the pre-heated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  • Loosen the loaf from the pan and place it on a countertop or plate.

To prepare the coating:

  • While the cinnamon sweet bread is cooling, using a large shallow dish, pour melted butter into dish; add the two sugars and cinnamon; mix well to combine.

To assemble and serve:

  • Take the loaf bread and dip into the melted butter.
  • Make sure to coat all sides.
  • Remove the bread from the dipped mixture and serve.
  • Garnish the loaf by sprinkling with a cinnamon and sugar mixture; optional.
