Leckerschmecker

Ingredients
  

  • 45 slices bacon
  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 15 – 20-ounces cheddar cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Place the slices of bacon in a cast iron skillet; lay out fanned to form a circle.
  • The ends of the slices overhang the skillet edge; its inner surface is completely covered with bacon.
  • Wash and cut the potatoes into thin slices; place on top of the bacon; salt and pepper.
  • Cover the potatoes with the grated cheddar cheese.
  • Repeat the potato and cheese applications twice more, using fewer potatoes slices to create the pyramid shape.
  • Conclude the work of art by bringing the overhanging bacon over the top of the cheese covered potatoes.
  • Bake for 2 ½ hours.
