
Onion Beef Fried Rice Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked rice, preferably day-old and cold
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mixed vegetables
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok, orer medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and sauté until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and sauté for a few minutes until tender-crisp.
- Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef and vegetables.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauceand sesame oil; stir well to coat the rice evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot: Garnish with green onions or cilantro, if desired.
Notes
Using cold, day-old rice keeps the rice from clumping and helps the end product to fry up nicely.
