Onion Beef Fried Rice Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked rice, preferably day-old and cold
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok, orer medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef and sauté until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened.
  • Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and sauté for a few minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef and vegetables.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauceand sesame oil; stir well to coat the rice evenly.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot: Garnish with green onions or cilantro, if desired.

Notes

Using cold, day-old rice keeps the rice from clumping and helps the end product to fry up nicely.
