Pre-heat oven to 350ºF.
Place pie crust in an appropriate round baking dish.
In a skillet, cook sausage until no longer pink; drain fat.
In a medium bowl, combine cooked sausage and dry Ranch dressing and seasoning mix.
Drop crumbles of sausage mixture in bottom of pie crust.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, pepper and cream.
Pour egg mixture over sausage and cheese mixture in pie crust.
Place in oven and bake for 1 hour.
Remove from oven; allow quiche to rest for 5 – 10 minutes before serving.
I’ve had quiche so many times in restaurants but never prepared it myself. I followed directions exactly as shown in recipe and give it four stars! The ranch dressing gave it a unique taste that I liked. I’m thinking that the one cup of milk preparing ranch plus the additional one cup of heavy cream may have been just a little too much as it somewhat overflowed the porcelain dish I used. Or maybe I should use a deeper dish next time:-)
