Place a large pot, on the stove, and turn the heat to high.
Pour in water sufficient water to cover linguini, add salt and bring it to a boil.
Add the linguini and cook for 7 minutes or until al dente’; drain the water and rinse with cold running water to stop the cooking process.
Place a large skillet, on the stove, and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add tablespoons of butter and allow to melt.
Add the mushrooms and cook until tender; place the cooked mushrooms on a plate.
In the same skillet, add in 1/2 cup butter and allow to melt.
Add the minced garlic and sauté until aromatic.
Add the cream cheese and stir until melted.
Add basil and parsley; simmer for 5 minutes or until the sauce becomes smooth.
Add the cooked mushrooms and shrimp; allow to heat thoroughly.
Add the linguini and toss until completely coated with the sauce.
Remove from heat and serve.
