Southern Style Dirty Rice

Ingredients
  

  • 1-pound sausage of choice, cut into thin slices
  • 3 cups long grain white rice, uncooked
  • 4 tbsp. Creole seasoning
  • 1-½ tbsp. of Zatarain’s Dehydrated Sweet Bell Peppers
  • 1 tbsp. onion, minced
  • 1 tbsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 6-½ cups water
  • 2 tbsp. of butter
  • Dash of paprika

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, on medium-high heat, brown sausage until cooked; drain; set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil; add all the seasonings and butter; stir until completely combined.
  • Add the meat and rice; return to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
  • Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.
  • Fluff with fork and sprinkle with a dash of paprika before serving.
