Southern Style Dirty Rice
Ingredients
- 1-pound sausage of choice, cut into thin slices
- 3 cups long grain white rice, uncooked
- 4 tbsp. Creole seasoning
- 1-½ tbsp. of Zatarain’s Dehydrated Sweet Bell Peppers
- 1 tbsp. onion, minced
- 1 tbsp. garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 6-½ cups water
- 2 tbsp. of butter
- Dash of paprika
Instructions
- In a large skillet, on medium-high heat, brown sausage until cooked; drain; set aside.
- In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil; add all the seasonings and butter; stir until completely combined.
- Add the meat and rice; return to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.
- Fluff with fork and sprinkle with a dash of paprika before serving.
