Whipped Honeyed Jalapeño Ricotta
Ingredients
- 2 cups ricotta
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. onion powder
- ½ tsp. dried oregano
- ½ tsp. dried red chili flakes, optional
- ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
- ¼ cup jalapeño honey (see note)
- Fresh oregano leaves
- Toasted French baquette, sliced and toasted, for serving, optional
- Crackers or bread, of choice, for serving, optional
Instructions
- Add the ricotta, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, ground black pepper and dried red chilies to a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the mixture from the blender to a shallow serving bowl (i.e. pie plate, quiche pan, etc.).
- Using the back of a teaspoon, smooth out the mixture, leaving swooping lines and crevices.
- Spoon the jalapeno honey over the ricotta, intentionally filling the crevices left by the teaspoon.
- Top with a sprinkling of dried red chili flakes and ground black pepper, if desired.
- Garnish with fresh oregano leaves and serve with warm bread or your favorite crackers.
