Whipped Honeyed Jalapeño Ricotta

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups ricotta
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. dried oregano
  • ½ tsp. dried red chili flakes, optional
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup jalapeño honey (see note)
  • Fresh oregano leaves
  • Toasted French baquette, sliced and toasted, for serving, optional
  • Crackers or bread, of choice, for serving, optional

Instructions
 

  • Add the ricotta, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, ground black pepper and dried red chilies to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Transfer the mixture from the blender to a shallow serving bowl (i.e. pie plate, quiche pan, etc.).
  • Using the back of a teaspoon, smooth out the mixture, leaving swooping lines and crevices.
  • Spoon the jalapeno honey over the ricotta, intentionally filling the crevices left by the teaspoon.
  • Top with a sprinkling of dried red chili flakes and ground black pepper, if desired.
  • Garnish with fresh oregano leaves and serve with warm bread or your favorite crackers.
