Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
In a saucepan, heat ¼ cup of oil and brown the pork chops; when done, drain off fat.
In a medium casserole dish, arrange the potato slices evenly and then add a layer of pork chops.
In a bowl, mix together the onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup and milk.
Pour over the casserole to cover.
Bake for 1 hour.
