Newfoundland Never Fail Dumplings
A tried and true 90 year old dumplings recipe from Newfoundland's finest cooks.
Ingredients
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1-½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1-½ tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the milk and egg mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Use a large spoon to drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the stew.
- Cover the pot and let the dumplings cook for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are puffed and fully cooked.
