Newfoundland Never Fail Dumplings
A tried and true 90 year old dumplings recipe from Newfoundland's finest cooks.
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1-½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1-½ tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the milk and egg mixture, stirring until just combined.
Use a large spoon to drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the stew.
Cover the pot and let the dumplings cook for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are puffed and fully cooked.
