Cuban Fried Bananas

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 4 bananas, ripe and peeled
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup medium-dry sherry wine
  • Vanilla ice cream

Instructions
 

  • On a chopping board, cut bananas lengthwise in halves.
  • In a skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the bananas; cook until browned on both sides.
  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle over the bananas.
  • Stir in the sherry.
  • Simmer, covered, for 4 minutes or until the bananas are tender.
  • Remove from skillet to individual serving dishes.
  • Drizzle remaining sauce, in the skillet, over bananas.
  • Top with vanilla ice cream.
