Cuban Fried Bananas
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 4 bananas, ripe and peeled
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- ½ cup medium-dry sherry wine
- Vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- On a chopping board, cut bananas lengthwise in halves.
- In a skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the bananas; cook until browned on both sides.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle over the bananas.
- Stir in the sherry.
- Simmer, covered, for 4 minutes or until the bananas are tender.
- Remove from skillet to individual serving dishes.
- Drizzle remaining sauce, in the skillet, over bananas.
- Top with vanilla ice cream.
