Leftover Turkey Cottage Pie

Ingredients
  

  • Leftover turkey cut into chunks
  • Leftover gravy
  • Leftover stuffing
  • Leftover vegetables 
  • Leftover vegetables
  • Leftover mashed potatoes, warmed with a little milk added
  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
  • Cover the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with chunks of turkey in a double layer.
  • Pour the gravy over the turkey, ensuring the turkey is completely covered. e.
  • Don't add too much gravy as the layers may not stay distinct; it is better to serve extra gravy, if enough leftover gravy is available.
  • Next, add a layer of leftover vegetables.
  • If you have leftover stuffing, add that next; it provides a very good insulating layer between the gravy and potatoes, helping to keep the layers distinct. .
  • If leftover stuffing is not available, it's not a deal breaker for this versatile recipe.
  • Spread on the mashed potato layer; run a fork lightly over the surface to create lines or a grid pattern to hold the melted butter, helping it brown better.
  • Finally, drizzle the top of the mashed potatoes with a few tablespoons of melted butter.
  • Place the pie into the oven and bake until the top is golden and the gravy starts to bubble; should not be long as all of the ingredients are already cooked.
  • If using smaller individual serving dishes, bake for 20 – 30 minutes, depending on the size of the serving dish.
